SUMMARY:Simcha Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Simcha\, meaning “joy” in Hebrew\, is a time for believers to celebrate the joy we have in Messiah. This retreat is designed for Jewish believers and those affiliated with Chosen People Ministries or Messianic congregations in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. Perfectly suited for both individuals and families of all sizes\, Simcha features worship\, teaching\, and workshops to deepen our walk with the Lord\, including children’s programs for kids and teens. We know this weekend together in nature will provide much-needed refreshment! \n\n\n\n“‘. . . all you people of the land take courage\,’ declares the Lord\, ‘and work; for I am with you\,’ declares the Lord of hosts” (Haggai 2:4). \n\n\n\n\nWe offer housing options for individuals\, couples\, double occupancy with separate beds\, and family housing. All on-campus housing includes accommodations for three nights\, meals for Friday through Monday morning\, all main sessions for all ages\, and access to the conference center grounds for activities and pool time.\n\n\n\nOff-campus guests for the full weekend get full access to the events and conference center activities. Meals included dinner on Friday\, lunch and dinner on Saturday and Sunday\, and breakfast on Monday. Off-campus housing allows commuters from the local area to come and enjoy the weekend with us. If we are fully booked\, this option allows guests to find housing accommodations at local hotels and still enjoy Simcha with us!\n\n\n\nDay guests can choose to come for a full or half day of events. A full day includes two main sessions\, workshop attendance\, activities on the conference grounds like the pool\, and two meals (lunch and dinner). Children who attend as day guests can participate in their programs during main sessions and childcare is provided during the workshops for adults to attend. Half-day guests can choose to attend one main session\, one meal\, and access to the conference grounds. Half-day registration does not include workshop sessions.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n“Failure: The Path to Success”\n\n\n\nA Series on the Book of Haggai \n\n\n\nToo often after we fail\, we just give up as if God can never use us again. Could it be that God wants to use our failures to draw us closer to Him and build qualities in us that He can use to advance His kingdom? After Israel returned from captivity and stopped rebuilding the Temple\, the prophet Haggai challenged the nation to use their failure to set them on a path to success. That same lesson applies to us as God uses our mistakes\, setbacks\, and even our sins\, to experience His forgiveness and draw us closer so we can love and serve Him forever. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMessages:\n\n\n\n\nReordering Our Priorities: Haggai 1:1–15 (Friday night)\n\n\n\nRefocusing Our Perspective: Haggai 2:1–9 (Saturday Morning)\n\n\n\nRenewing Our Purity: Haggai 2:10–19 (Saturday Evening)\n\n\n\nRemembering God’s Promise: Haggai 2:20–23 (Sunday Evening)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSpecial Guests\n\n\n\n\n\nDavid and Jamie Boskey—Worship \n\n\n\nDavid and Jamie Boskey have been serving the Lord in full-time ministry in Jerusalem for over a decade. Both are graduates of Moody Bible Institute\, where they met and fell in love. David was raised in a Messianic Jewish home in Israel\, and Jamie grew up in the cornfields of Indiana. They pastored and led worship for many years at a Hebrew-speaking congregation in Jerusalem. They are currently in Kentucky with their boys\, Judah (7) and Joseph (4)\, for David to pursue his PhD at Asbury Theological Seminary. After his studies\, they will move back home to teach and minister in Israel. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDr. Michael Rydelnik—Speaker \n\n\n\nMichael Rydelnik is Professor of Jewish Studies and Bible at Moody Bible Institute. He is the Host/Bible teacher on Open Line with Dr. Michael Rydelnik\, answering listeners’ Bible questions every Saturday morning for more than 200 stations across America. He graduated from Moody Bible Institute\, Azusa Pacific University\, Dallas Theological Seminary\, and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School\, where his doctoral research focused on the messianic hope of the Hebrew Bible.
