SUMMARY:Erev Rosh Hashanah 2026
DESCRIPTION:This is an Erev Rosh Hashanah—9/11 Memorial Service. We will briefly remember the tragedy of September 11\, 2001\, demonstrating how the hope associated with Rosh Hashanah gives us the courage and faith to endure and overcome the tragedies of this life. This service is for all who seek the comfort and strength that only the God of Israel can provide through the message and ultimate fulfillment of Rosh Hashanah. \n\n\n\nWhy This Year?\n\n\n\nThis year marks the twenty-fifth anniversary of the 9/11 attack on New York City\, a day that will forever touch the lives of those who experienced it. We honor the victims and heroes by reverently remembering that tragic loss of life and the sacrifice of so many who responded with courage\, aid\, and comfort. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nMitch talks about a unique Rosh Hashanah service he led just days after 9/11. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Evening—What to Expect\n\n\n\nWe will begin the service by remembering the events of September 11\, 2001. We will turn to the Lord\, who provides comfort and hope in life’s darkest moments. This will lead to the traditional observance of Rosh Hashanah through liturgy\, music\, the sounding of the shofar\, and the proclamation of God’s Word. After the service there will be a gathering in the first-floor lobby with drinks\, light snacks\, and the dipping of apples in honey as we wish each other a sweet and spiritually prosperous New Year. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSpeakers and Leaders\n\n\n\nDr. Mitch Glaser—Speaker\n\n\n\nMitch has served as the president of Chosen People Ministries for the past 29 years. \n\n\n\nSergey Brosov—Reading of the Liturgy\n\n\n\nAn Israeli\, Sergey served in the Israel Defense Forces. SUMMARY:Erev Yom Kippur Worship and Prayer Service
DESCRIPTION:STANDING TOGETHER BEFORE THE GOD OF ISRAEL\n\n\n\nOn the eve of Yom Kippur—the Day of Atonement—believers from across New York City will gather in one room to pray. \n\n\n\nWe will sing\, read Scripture\, and confess our sins. For most of the two hours\, we will pray: for Israel\, for the Jewish people of this city\, and for a hunger for God that only God can give. \n\n\n\nNew York City is home to the largest Jewish community in the world outside of Israel. On the holiest night of the Jewish year\, we will stand and ask God to protect them. \n\n\n\nAll are welcome. Come humble yourself\, worship\, and pray. \n\n\n\n\nSeek the Lord while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near.— Isaiah 55:6 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWHY WE ARE GATHERING\n\n\n\nFOR ISRAELWe will pray for the safety of her people\, for the wounded\, for families burying their dead\, for those still displaced\, and for leaders who need wisdom. \n\n\n\nFOR NEW YORK’S JEWISH COMMUNITYNew York City is home to the largest Jewish community in the world outside of Israel. We will pray for their families\, for their synagogues\, for their schools\, and against the hatred and violence aimed at them. \n\n\n\nFOR SPIRITUAL AWAKENINGWe will pray that people would seek God again—the God of Abraham\, Isaac\, and Jacob—and that they would experience His mercy in Yeshua (Jesus)\, Israel’s promised Messiah. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWHY THIS MATTERS\n\n\n\nTHE GOSPEL IS JEWISHThe gospel did not begin in Europe or America; it began in Israel. Yeshua is Jewish. So were His apostles. The Scriptures He fulfilled were Israel’s Scriptures\, and the promises He kept were made to Abraham\, Isaac\, Jacob\, and David. What He proclaimed was redemption for Israel\, and through Israel\, for the nations. \n\n\n\nONE NEW HUMANITY IN MESSIAHPaul wrote that Messiah tore down the wall between Jewish and Gentile People and made the two one. One does not replace the other. Both Jewish and Gentile followers of the Messiah are one body reconciled to God (Ephesians 2:16). On September 20\, the two will come together united in prayer for Israel and the Jewish people. \n\n\n\n\nFor He Himself is our peace\, who made both groups into one . . . —Ephesians 2:14 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWHAT TO EXPECT\n\n\n\nThis two-hour service will include Messianic Jewish worship\, teaching from the Scriptures\, confession\, and repentance. Then we will pray for Israel\, for this city’s Jewish community\, and for the sick. \n\n\n\nThis event is free. Register so we know how many people to prepare for. \n\n\n\n\nPray for the peace of Jerusalem: ‘May they prosper who love you.’ —Psalm 122:6 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWHEN AND WHERE\n\n\n\nDate: Sunday\, September 20\, 2026Time: 4:00–6:00 p.m.Location: Life Center Church · 75 Maiden Lane\, 12th Floor · New York\, NY 10038Cost: FreeNearest trains: Fulton St (2/3/4/5/A/C/J/Z)\, Wall St\, Broad St. Enter on Maiden Lane and take the elevator to the 12th floor. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCOME PRAY FOR ISRAEL AND FOR THE JEWISH PEOPLE OF NEW YORK\n\n\n\nYou don’t need to be Jewish\, know the prayers\, or have done this before. \n\n\n\nCome worship and pray with us. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father.—Ephesians 2:18 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFAQ\n\n\n\nDo I need to be Jewish to come?\nNo. All are welcome. \n\n\n\n\nDoes it cost anything?\nThere is no cost\, but please register so we can count seats. \n\n\n\n\nWhat is Erev Yom Kippur?\nErev is Hebrew for “evening.” Yom Kippur\, the Day of Atonement\, is the holiest day of the Jewish year—a day of fasting\, repentance\, and seeking God. We meet in the evening to pray. \n\n\n\n\nIs this a Yom Kippur service?\nIt is a prayer service\, not a synagogue Kol Nidre service. Expect Messianic Jewish worship\, teaching\, and a long stretch of prayer. \n\n\n\n\nCan I bring my family or my group?\nYes. Register each person so our count is right.

A private room costs $1\,410 extra. \n\n\n\n\nTravel Logistics\nWhat about flights?Book your own flights to Ben Gurion Airport (TLV). Arrive by 4 p.m. on March 2. The first event is dinner at 6 p.m. in Tel Aviv. For returning home\, we advise you to look for flights which leave in the early hours of March 12. Most transatlantic flights leave between midnight and 6 a.m. We recommend arriving at the airport three hours before your scheduled departure\, so you might need to leave for the airport the day before your flight. If you need to book an extra night at the hotel\, let us know immediately. \n\n\n\nDo I need a visa?Yes. You must apply for the ETA-IL entry permit ($7\, takes 1–2 days for approval) at least 72 hours before departure. Passport must be valid for at least 6 months. \n\n\n\nHow do I get to and from the airport?Take a taxi from the airport to the hotel ($50–75\, cash or card). It takes about one hour to get to Tel Aviv. The process is the same upon departure. \n\n\n\n\nPhysical Requirements\nDo I need to be fit?Moderate fitness helps. Most days involve 2–4 miles of walking in the sun with rest stops. You will encounter stone paths\, uneven terrain\, and 50–100 steps at some sites. \n\n\n\nIf you can walk 30–45 minutes at a time and manage stairs\, you will do great. Comfortable walking shoes are essential. \n\n\n\n\nWhat to Pack\nClothing: Light layers (cotton/linen)\, light jacket for evenings\, comfortable walking shoes\, sun protection (hat\, sunglasses\, sunscreen)\, swimsuit for the Dead Sea\, modest clothing for sacred sites (shoulders/knees covered)\, and one nicer outfit for dinners. \n\n\n\nElectronics: Plug adapter (Type C\, same as Europe). Most modern devices only need an adapter\, not a converter. Bring battery packs. \n\n\n\nOther Essentials: Passport\, medications (in original containers)\, Bible\, and journal. Be sure to keep your medications and a change of clothes in your carry-on. \n\n\n\n\nMoney & Currency\nWhat currency do I need?Israel’s national currency is the New Israeli Shekel (NIS). US dollars are accepted at tourist sites. Credit cards are accepted almost everywhere. ATMs are easy to find. Notify your bank before travel. \n\n\n\n\nFood & Dietary\nWhat about meals?Hotels serve kosher-style meals (dairy breakfast\, meat dinner). Breakfasts include cheeses\, fish\, vegetables\, eggs\, salad\, and pastries. Dinners are meat-focused with vegetarian options. Most hotels offer gluten-free choices. Lunches are on your own. \n\n\n\n\nDuring the Tour\nWill there be worship and teaching?Yes. The trip includes daily devotionals\, worship\, and Messianic teaching as a group. You will see Scripture come alive as you walk in the places where many of these events occurred. \n\n\n\nCan I extend my stay?Yes. Arrive early or stay after at your own expense. Contact our tour administrator before booking flights. We can often help with hotel reservations. \n\n\n\nWhat about my phone?Hotels have WiFi. Alert your phone company about overseas travel and get international data. We will create a WhatsApp group for tour communication. \n\n\n\n\nRooming & Occupancy\nAccommodations are based on double occupancy. Single rooms are available for an additional $1\,410 single supplement. Please note that triple occupancy rooms are not available for this tour. \n\n\n\nIf you select double occupancy but do not have a roommate\, we will match you with a same-gender roommate. \n\n\n\n\nItinerary\nPreliminary Schedule (subject to change) \n\n\n\nDay 1 – Monday\, March 1Depart from the United States. \n\n\n\nDay 2 – Tuesday\, March 2 – Tel AvivWelcome to Israel!
