Chosen People Ministries Returns to the Bay Area
In 1970, Chosen People Ministries sent a team to San Francisco during the height of the Jesus Movement. Jewish young people were open to the gospel in unexpected ways. Street evangelism flourished. Music ministry drew crowds.
Dr. Mitch Glaser, our president, has a long spiritual history in the Bay Area. In fact, he became a believer in San Francisco in November 1970. The story is really dramatic, and I know you will enjoy it. It is an incredible testimony of God’s grace in the life of a young Jewish man from New York City.

Chosen People Ministries had work in San Francisco for decades, and that ministry fell by the wayside over the last 10 or 15 years. But we are committed to reaching the 400,000 Jewish people in the greater Bay Area.

It’s been many years since we had an active work here. God is calling us back.

It Begins with Hanukkah
We’re gathering on the first night of Hanukkah—December 14th—at Sunset Church in San Francisco. Dr. Mitch Glaser will be teaching. We’ll light the menorah, share traditional foods, and explore how this Festival of Dedication points to Yeshua, the Light of the World.

What we’ll do together:

• Light the Hanukkah menorah
• Enjoy traditional Hanukkah foods (latkes!)
• Sing Hanukkah songs and play dreidel
• Hear Dr. Glaser teach on Hanukkah and the Messiah
• Special program for children

Bring your Jewish friends. Bring your family. Whether you’ve celebrated Hanukkah your whole life or this is your first time, you’re welcome.

What Comes Next
This Hanukkah celebration is the first step. Where it leads—a regular fellowship, a congregation, a hub for outreach across the Bay Area—we’ll see. But here’s what we know: Jewish people in this region need to hear about Yeshua. Believers need community. And God has proven faithful to this work before.

We are convinced that God can move again in power in the San Francisco Bay area. We need your prayers in presence and I hope that you will consider joining us at our Hanukkah celebration on Sunday afternoon at 5 PM on December 14 at Sunset Church. I will see you there.
