Beautiful Sunrise at the Western Wall
Explore Israel

July 2, 2027 – July 11, 2027

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: ‘May they prosper who love you.'” —Psalm 122:6

More Than a Tour. A Mission.

Explore Israel is a unique ten-day mission experience designed for believers who desire more than a traditional trip to the Holy Land. You’ll serve alongside Chosen People Ministries staff in Israel through meaningful ministry to the Jewish people while visiting key biblical sites that bring Scripture to life and deepen your understanding of the Jewish roots of your faith.

This is not a sightseeing tour with a few ministry opportunities added in. Ministry is the purpose of the journey.

Working alongside our Israel staff, you’ll pray, build relationships, encourage local communities, and participate in practical outreach while experiencing the land where God’s redemptive story unfolded.

If you’ve ever wanted to move beyond simply seeing Israel and become part of God’s work in the Land, Explore Israel is your opportunity.

Serve Alongside Local Ministry

Every day is designed around ministry. Participants will serve shoulder-to-shoulder with Chosen People Ministries staff in opportunities that reflect the love of Messiah through both word and deed.

Ministry opportunities may include:

  • Serving Holocaust survivors with compassion and encouragement
  • Ministering to Israelis in need through practical acts of service and relationship-building
  • Hosting special outreach events at Chosen People Ministries Messianic centers
  • Participating in prayer walks throughout Jerusalem and Tel Aviv
  • Joining worship nights and praying with local staff, believers, and ministry partners

*Ministry opportunities are subject to change.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it safe to travel to Israel?

The safety of our participants is our highest priority. Explore Israel operates in accordance with the guidelines of the Israel Defense Forces Home Front Command and in close coordination with Chosen People Ministries—Israel, Sarel, and local authorities. We monitor conditions daily, adjust the itinerary when necessary, and communicate promptly with participants should circumstances change. We also encourage you to review the latest travel advisories issued by your country’s embassy or foreign affairs office before your trip.

What is the payment and refund policy?

A 50-percent deposit is due at the time of registration to reserve your place on the trip. The remaining balance is due by June 1, 2027. No refunds will be issued after June 1, 2027.

We strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance.

By registering for Explore Israel, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the payment, cancelation, and refund policy.

What expenses should I plan for?

The Explore Israel registration fee includes accommodations, transportation within Israel, meals as outlined in the itinerary, guided tours, ministry activities, and program-related expenses.

Participants are responsible for airfare, travel insurance, personal expenses, and gratuities. Please plan accordingly and bring cash for gratuities. Suggested tipping amounts are based on US dollars and may be paid in either US dollars or Israeli shekels:

  • Tour guide: $6–10 per person per day
  • Bus driver: $4–7 per person per day
  • Hotel housekeeping: $2–3 per person per day

Additional information about travel preparation, recommended spending money, and other trip details will be provided to accepted participants.

Can I raise financial support for my trip?

Yes. Participants are welcome to invite others to partner with them through prayer and financial support. After acceptance into the Explore Israel program, we will provide additional guidance, resources, and instructions for support raising.

What are the flight arrangements?

Participants are responsible for booking their own flights to Ben Gurion Airport (TLV). Please plan to arrive on Friday, July 2, 2027.

Additional travel information will be provided to accepted participants.

Do I need a visa?

Yes. You must apply for the ETA-IL entry permit ($7, takes 1–2 days for approval) at least 72 hours before departure. Passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the end of the tour.

What are the hotel accommodations like?

Accommodations are provided at three-star hotels on a double-occupancy basis, with two people per room and a private bathroom.

If you are traveling alone, we will match you with a same-gender roommate whenever possible. If you prefer a private room, a limited number are available for an additional surcharge.

What currency do I need?

Israel’s national currency is the New Israeli Shekel (NIS). US dollars are accepted at tourist sites. Credit cards are accepted almost everywhere. ATMs are easy to find. Notify your bank before travel.

Can I extend my stay?

Yes. Arrive early or stay after at your own expense. Contact our program director before booking flights. We can often help with hotel reservations.

Can I use my phone in Israel?

Yes. Before traveling, check with your phone carrier about international plans or overseas data options. Many providers offer international plans, and eSIM options are also available.

We will create a WhatsApp group for trip communication, so we recommend ensuring you have access to messaging while in Israel. All hotels will provide WiFi for guests.

Will I be able to plug in my electronics in Israel?

Yes. Israel uses Type C and Type H electrical outlets (similar to European plugs). Most modern devices, such as phones and laptops, only require a plug adapter and do not need a voltage converter. We recommend bringing a plug adapter and a portable battery pack for convenience while traveling.

How much walking should I expect?

Explore Israel includes walking through biblical sites, cities, and ministry locations. Most days involve approximately 2–4 miles of walking, often in the sun, with rest stops along the way. Participants should be prepared for uneven terrain and stairs. Comfortable walking shoes are essential.

What should I pack?

Pack comfortable clothing suitable for warm weather, including light layers, comfortable walking shoes, and modest attire for visits to religious sites. We also recommend bringing sun protection, a swimsuit for the Dead Sea, a Bible, a journal, and personal medications.

A detailed packing list will be provided to accepted participants.
