SHARE THIS NEWSLETTER WITH A FRIEND

Dear friend,

I hope this note and newsletter find you rejoicing in the Lord and gearing up for all the Lord has for you during the fall season.

The Jewish community is coming to the end of the celebration of the Jewish fall festivals, which began last month. The first holiday is called Rosh Hashanah in Hebrew or “head of the year”—the new year. This prepares everyone for the Day of Atonement (Yom Kippur). Five days after comes the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkot). These are the major Jewish festivals celebrated in the seventh month of the Jewish calendar.

During this season, your Jewish friends are thinking a lot about their relationship with God—far more than during the rest of the year. They have spent the ten days between Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur repenting, asking God to forgive their sins, and reconciling with others. The hope of the Jewish people is for God to write our names in the book of life for the upcoming year. According to Jewish tradition, the books of life and death close at the end of Yom Kippur, and God has sealed the fate of every Jewish soul for either blessing or cursing in the coming year, depending on the merit of their repentance and good deeds.

As believers, we know neither good deeds nor even genuine repentance can give us the assurance of sins forgiven or of our place in the Jewish understanding of heaven. These blessings are gifts only available to those who accept the Lord Jesus and His atoning death for our sins (John 14:6). This is why I am so burdened about our once-a-year October evangelistic newsletter you are holding in your hand!

We have printed thousands of extra newsletters, and we are hoping you will take the opportunity to give a copy to your Jewish friends and neighbors. The Jewish community is suffering, both publicly and privately. October 7, 2023, and the horrible rise of global antisemitism has had a terrible impact, which is why we created a newsletter to share the source of Christian hope with our Jewish family and friends.

I hope this newsletter will bless you and encourage you to share it with a Jewish friend. Your church may want some copies to share as well. You can request additional copies by filling out the form below so you can share these resources with others who need to hear the good news of the Messiah.

Blessings in our Messiah and Lord,

Mitch

P.S. Please consider a generous gift to our Rebuilding Israel fund. Repairing our Tel Aviv Messianic Center, which was damaged by an Iranian missile, will enable us to continue expanding our reach to the millions of Jewish people who live, work, and study in the greater Tel Aviv area.
