Prime Minister Netanyahu’s Cancer Was Detected and Treated

Recent news revealed that Prime Minister Netanyahu was treated for prostate cancer after doctors discovered a small malignant tumor after a routine procedure. The MRI showed a tiny lesion, smaller than one centimeter, and suspicious traits on the prostate without metastases. The Prime Minister chose to have radiation therapy and is now cancer free.

Netanyahu wanted to delay the publication of his cancer and treatment diagnosis by two months, “so it would not be published at the height of the war, in order not to allow the terrorist regime in Iran to spread more false propaganda against Israel.” He also added, “You already know me. When I receive timely information about a possible danger, I want to deal with it immediately. That is true on the national level and on the personal level. That is what I did. I underwent focused treatment that removed the problem and left no trace of it. I came in for a few short treatments, read a book, and continued working. The spot disappeared completely. Thank God, I defeated this too.”

Please pray for the health and wellbeing of Prime Minister Netanyahu, and others who serve in key positions in the Israeli government and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

Israel Sent the Iron Dome to Aid the United Arab Emirates

During the Operation Roaring Lion war between Iran, Israel, and the United States, Iran launched 550 ballistic and cruise missiles, and more than 2,200 drones, on the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It was the most targeted country in the region. Early in the war, the UAE sought Israel’s assistance for missile protection, and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu ordered the deployment of the Iron Dome defense battery along with dozens of troops to operate it. This was the first time it was sent to aid another country besides Israel and the United States. Dozens of the missiles were intercepted, but some impacted military and civilian targets.

The UAE and Israel signed the 2020 Abraham Accords and started to normalize relations. The shared threat of Iran helped motivate this political deal. The war with Iran has brought the two countries into close partnerships militarily and politically. The Israeli Air Force specifically targeted sites in southern Iran that were launching short range missiles toward the UAE.

Please pray for this strategic relationship to continue to and flourish.

Former Prime Ministers Merge Parties ahead of Israeli Elections

Naftali Bennett’s party Bennett and Yair Lapid’s party Yesh Atid have merged into a single party called Together. The former prime ministers announced that they will run in the upcoming elections together. The goal is to unite the opposition bloc and unseat Prime Minister Netanyahu. Speaking at a joint press conference, Bennett said, “I am taking the most Zionist and most patriotic step we have ever taken, for our country. Our unity sends a message to all the people of Israel: the era of division is over. The era of repair has arrived.”

They plan to form a government with the Zionist opposition parties and not include Arab or
religious Jewish (haredi) parties. They have reached out to Gadi Eisenkot to ask him to join their party in a united bloc. Recent polls have showed Eisenkot’s party Yashar to be not far behind in polls from Netanyahu’s Likud party.

“On the first day of the new government under my leadership, we will establish a state commission of inquiry into the October 7 massacre to bring truth to the families and answers to all the people of Israel,” said Bennet. He also plans to further a universal draft law, stop funding draft evasion, and limit the term a prime minister can serve to eight years. He also said, “We will safeguard the lands of our country and will not hand over a single centimeter to the enemy. We will strengthen an inclusive, welcoming Judaism without coercion.”

Please pray for the upcoming Israeli elections and for Israel’s leadership.

Our Staff in Jerusalem Celebrate Israel’s Independence Day

Our staff in Jerusalem have been eagerly serving their community, especially during the season of Israeli Independence Day, which was last Wednesday. This is what one of our staff members had to say:

Because of the 40-day war with Iran, our meetings with Holocaust survivors were not able to happen. The Monday before Independence Day, we met for the first time! It was a very meaningful time, and everyone was so happy to see each other and enjoy each other’s company. Although attendance was not large—around 30–35 people came—the atmosphere was very warm. We had the opportunity to discuss spiritual topics together and have some personal conversations. A young man came to help and played the saxophone; it was a wonderful concert.

Since the meeting took place just before Independence Day, we also celebrated the birthday of our “old-young” country together and served homemade shawarma. Everyone loved the tasty, nutritious food. Finally, on Independence Day, we invited several families to our Jerusalem Messianic Center. There were a few families who had just immigrated to Israel, so it was their first time experiencing this special day—a day of joy to be in the State of Israel celebrated with BBQ, music, waving flags, silly string, and big blow-up plastic hammers. A few of them are not yet believers, and we look forward to a deeper friendship with them. This day opened to us such opportunities!

The Jerusalem team also distributed ten gift boxes to lone soldiers. Lone soldiers are soldiers who have come from other countries to serve in the IDF and do not have family in the country. These gift boxes gave the lone soldiers much excitement, as well as appreciation for the believers who gave them.

Please be praying for deeper relationships with our staff and Holocaust survivors, soldiers, and families—both new immigrants and established! Please pray that many would have a deeper walk with the Lord and for those who do not yet so they may soon discover the salvation freely given through Jesus the Messiah!
