Iran Continues to Develop Underground Nuclear Site “Pickaxe Mountain”
A leading U.S. institute that monitors Iran’s nuclear activities has warned that work appears to be continuing at an uninspected underground complex buried within the Zagros Mountains. Inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) have not been granted access to the site, known as “Pickaxe Mountain,” fueling concerns that the Iranian regime may not be complying with the terms of the memorandum of understanding reached with the Trump administration.
The memorandum clearly specifies “The Islamic Republic of Iran reaffirms that it will not seek or develop nuclear weapons. The Islamic Republic of Iran will maintain the current status quo of its nuclear program.” Those commitments are central to the document signed by Iran and the United States. But newly released satellite images of a secret underground facility are raising fresh questions about whether Tehran intends to honor the agreement.
The Washington-based Institute for Science and International Security (ISIS) released an analysis of satellite imagery captured in late June 2026 that showed construction and fortification activity at the nuclear site remains underway. According to the Institute, “Vehicle traffic can be seen on roads leading to the western tunnel entrances, indicating that work inside the tunnel complex, as well as reinforcement of the entrances, is still ongoing.”
Under the agreement in the memorandum of understanding, Iran is required to maintain the status quo of its nuclear program. In other words, construction, fortification, or development of any nuclear-related facility or technology is prohibited. The Pickaxe Mountain complex is part of Iran’s nuclear program, so continued construction is inconsistent with the agreement.
Spencer Faragasso, a senior fellow at the institute, expressed concern in a post on X: “The continued work at the mountain is deeply troubling. It has been ongoing consistently since at least 2020. In my assessment, this is an insurance policy by Iran in case negotiations fail, so it will already have a nuclear facility in an advanced stage of construction. We assessed that the mountain complex is large enough to contain a uranium enrichment facility. If Iran is serious about negotiations, it should stop construction at the mountain as a gesture of goodwill. But what can one expect from such a cruel and cunning regime?”
Pray for clarity about the details of this nuclear site. Pray for government and military leaders in the U.S. and Israel to have the wisdom and courage to deal with Iran. Pray for the permanent collapse of the evil the Iranian regime plans against its own people and the people of Israel. Pray for the world to see the truth about what is happening in Iran, Israel, and the Middle East. Pray for people in Iran and Israel to come to know Jesus.
Israel Defense Forces Prepare for Possible Action as Hamas Refuses to Disarm
As the International Stabilization Force (ISF) expects to receive formal control of Gaza from Hamas and begin the phased reconstruction plans, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is working hard to strengthen the ISF’s position in Gaza.
Although the ceasefire agreement stipulates the disarmament and disbanding of Hamas before proceeding to the reconstruction phase, in reality, the terror group continues to dominate a significant portion of Gaza, refusing to depart or to disarm. They are stockpiling weapons, hiding high-ranking leaders, and asserting power over Gazan civilians.
“Hamas knows how to exploit loopholes and profit from the reconstruction process. It will not easily give up power,” security officials report. Hamas still maintains drones, motorized paragliders, watercraft, diving equipment, an active intelligence network, and a renewed tunnel-digging system. In addition, Hamas terrorist cells in Gaza currently possess about 27,000 weapons. These include thousands of high-altitude missiles and a wide variety of explosive devices, some likely crafted from unexploded bombs and missiles.
According to the IDF Southern Command, dozens of vehicles were transferred over the weekend from ISF headquarters in Kiryat Gat to American personnel operating in Gaza. The move is part of ongoing broader preparations for the ISF to assume security responsibilities in designated areas of the Gaza Strip.
Pray for the preparations of the ISF to “take over” as Hamas supposedly fades into the background. Pray that Hamas’ underground tunnel operations, deceptive practices, and demonic love of violence would all come to an end. Pray for both terrorists and new ISF personnel to have divine, life-altering encounters with Jesus.
Israel’s Newest Medical Advancement Treats Opioid Addiction
Israeli medical researchers have made a major breakthrough in an innovative sound wave neuromodulation treatment that may transform the fight against opioid addiction.
Opioids, including prescription medications such as OxyContin, Vicodin, morphine, codeine, and fentanyl, are widely used to treat pain but can lead to dependence. Since Hamas’ October 7, 2023 attack, Israeli addiction specialists have reported increases in substance abuse and relapses among terror survivors and displaced residents. Now, medical researchers at Rambam Health Care Campus in Haifa believe they can offer new hope.
For the first time in Israel, doctors successfully treated an opioid-addicted patient using groundbreaking neuromodulation technology that combines real-time MRI with high-intensity focused ultrasound. The procedure precisely targets the brain’s nucleus accumbens: the region responsible for pleasure, satisfaction, reward, and craving.
The patient, a family man in his 40s, became addicted after being prescribed opioids for a neck injury. Although his pain eventually disappeared, his dependence did not. Before treatment, he was taking 130 pills a day simply to function.
“This new technology makes it possible to intervene directly in the brain’s electrical activity in a highly targeted way,” said Dr. Lior Lev Tov, Rambam’s director of functional neurosurgery and the study’s lead investigator.
During the treatment, doctors observed a decline in his opioid cravings. One week later, tests returned negative for opioids and other substances. The patient then also reported his craving level had dropped to zero. In addition, the treatment dramatically reduced his cigarette use and eliminated his desire for alcohol.
This is “nothing short of a medical and therapeutic breakthrough,” Lev Tov said. Researchers at Rambam and the Technion–Israel Institute of Technology believe the same technology could eventually help treat other forms of addiction, eating disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, severe depression, and more.
Shabbat Dinner with Dr. Mitch Glaser
Recently, our staff welcomed Dr. Mitch Glaser in Israel. During his visit, the team at our Ramat Gan Ministry Center hosted a Shabbat dinner where many new and old friends came to enjoy a Shabbat meal together with uplifting fellowship and conversations. It was a special evening of worship and prayer as everyone sat shoulder-to-shoulder in our rented facility.
Dr. Glaser spoke of the comforting words found in Isaiah 43:1–7, especially these: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you . . . When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned.” He spoke directly to a room full of people who have been through two-and-a-half years of war about its hardships, worry, and heartache. This talk was on the anniversary of our ministry facility in Tel Aviv being struck by an Iranian missile in June 2025. The evening was a time of celebration for the life and salvation He has given us.
To top it off, there were a few not-yet-believers attending with their friends! They heard the gospel message, so we pray they will begin to comprehend the love the Lord has for them.
Please pray that God’s love sinks deep into their mind and soul, just as Isaiah 43:5 says, “Do not fear, for I am with you.” Please pray for the believers to feel renewed and refreshed in their faith and love for the Lord, though they have walked through two-and-a-half years of struggle.
