As a result of the massive hurricane that hit the island of Jamaica, Israel recently sent a delegation of 30 doctors and nurses specializing in emergency, women’s, family, internal, pediatric, and orthopedic medicine. Israel’s medical team has been working side by side with local staff who have been working nonstop to stabilize the damaged health care system and its facilities. Dr. Mendelovich said, “There are hospitals that have simply been wiped out. We saw a very large hospital that had simply collapsed. The storm took everything, and left only standing walls. It’s a very hard event to witness.”

This team was able to fully integrate and work together with the local team, adding to the speed and depth of treatment for those in need. The Jamaican staff responded very well—Mendelovich said, “They trust the staff so much that yesterday for the first time the Israeli nurses entered the normal rota of the wards, and the Jamaican nurses, who have been working nonstop since the storm, were finally able to take time off.” It has also been reported that the Israeli delegation has only been received with warmth, despite Israel’s negative global image. Mendelovich also said, “As with all previous missions, we came with close security, but that’s only for due diligence. We are receiving excellent treatment. People who hear we are from Israel say, ‘well done’. We have not received negative responses. We have no fears, and I’m glad to say the worries we had have not materialized.” One doctor said, “It is moving to see again how the State of Israel can extend a hand: fast, professional, and warm, even at a distance of over 10,000 kilometers. We were privileged to touch patients, save lives, and certainly represent our country with honor. A great Israeli pride.”

Please pray for the health and restoration of the Jamaican patients that the Israeli team is treating.

After more than two years since Hamas’ deadly onslaught on civilians in the border towns, construction workers in Kibbutz Be’eri stumbled upon loaded Kalashnikov rifles. The guns and walkie-talkies were found in a kindergarten and had been used by the Hamas terrorists on October 7, 2023. The shocking discovery was reported to police who came to professionally remove the rifles.

Please pray for the residents of Kibbutz Be’eri who suffered so much at the hands of Hamas terrorists.

Nation-Wide Heavy Storms Bring Rain and Thunder

Winter has finally arrived in Israel, bringing cooler temperatures, thunder, lightning, and heavy rain. The sudden rains on the parched ground recently created flash floods in the Judean Desert, as well as on city streets.

Since weather measurements began being recorded, the first two weeks of November have broken records, measuring between 5-10 degrees higher than average November temperatures.  These first rains are much needed; the previous winter experienced a significant shortfall of rain. Now, the Israel Water Authority is pumping desalinated water into the Sea of Galilee to raise its water levels before it reaches the precarious black line that could trigger an ecological disaster. This is the first time processed seawater is being used to fill up a freshwater lake.

Please pray for more rain—the land desperately needs saturation.

Report from Staff of Gospel-Oriented Conversation

Recently, a staff member reported of this wonderful conversation with someone who attended one of our events. Please read, pray, and think about ways you too can share the gospel with those around you!

Recently, I was on a trip to the Galilee with a bus full of people from our Ramat Gan Ministry Center community, called HaMercaz. During the tour, I had the opportunity to talk with an older man, like a grandpa, who radiates joy—his cheerful spirit is contagious and uplifting to everyone around him. He survived being Jewish in Europe during the time of the Holocaust.

He had heard about the gospel a few years ago, but he hasn’t yet received Jesus into his life. During our conversation, he shared his life story and spoke about the ongoing struggles and trauma that his family has carried.

At one point, he asked a deep and difficult question: “How can God allow evil in our world?” He gave an example: “If a good person is walking across a crosswalk and gets run over and killed—why would God allow that?”

This led him to ask me how I came to believe in Yeshua (Jesus). For a moment, I thought to myself, “Who am I to share about my own struggles when I’m sitting next to someone who was born into such a hard time in history?” I felt afraid—but right then I prayed for God’s wisdom and asked Him to guide our conversation so that His goodness would be revealed. Because I truly believe that God wants to use each one of us to share His love!

And that’s exactly what happened. He was very open to listen to the gospel, to how good God is, and to how much we all need Yeshua. I tried to encourage him to understand that I didn’t save myself from my troubles and brokenness—because as humans we are limited. The One who truly saved me is Yeshua—God Almighty!

Many times, we are afraid to share the good news, especially with people older than us. But since October 7, I feel that more and more people are searching for hope. They are more open—open to listen, open to talk, open to ask questions—without trying to correct the younger person sitting in front of them.

What would happen if we didn’t allow fear to silence us from speaking about such a good and loving God? Hallelujah!

This man wants to continue coming to our events in Tel Aviv.

Please pray that he will indeed receive Yeshua as his Messiah and truly taste and see that the Lord is good!
