You will be the technical foundation that enables our team to create compelling donor experiences, optimize campaigns, and reach Jewish people with the gospel through digital channels. This is a builder role. If you are energized by taking something from 85% to 100%, solving technical challenges independently, and seeing your work directly impact ministry outcomes—this is for you.

What We Need
Required:
- 3–5 years of web development experience—You have built products and shipped them.
- WordPress proficiency—You are comfortable with themes, plugins, customization, and troubleshooting.
- HTML/CSS/JavaScript—You can write clean, functional code.
- User-centered development approach—You understand that code serves people,
not the other way around. - Systems thinking—You see how pieces connect and consider downstream impacts.
- Problem-solving with modern tools—You can leverage AI assistants, Google, Stack Overflow, and other tools to find solutions independently.
- IT troubleshooting skills—You are comfortable with hardware, software, and network basics.
- Infrastructure basics—You understand hosting, DNS, deployment, and site performance.
Highly Beneficial:
- PHP for WordPress customization
- Experience with WPEngine, Cloudflare, or similar platforms
- Google Workspace administration
- AI coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, ChatGPT for development)
- FileMaker experience or other CRM database integration work
- SQL and database experience (MySQL or similar)
- Donation platforms and payment gateway integrations
- Background in UX, HCI, or design-development collaboration
- Experience in nonprofit, ministry, or fundraising contexts
What Matters Most
- Initiative—You see what needs doing and do it.
- Builder mentality—You get energy from shipping, not just planning.
- Collaborative mindset—You work closely with designers, strategists, and non- technical teammates to create user-centered experiences.
- Systems thinking—You consider how technical decisions impact users, workflows, and the broader organization.
- Ownership with humility—This becomes your infrastructure to improve, but you recognize you are part of a team building this together.
- Proactive communication—You ask questions, give updates, and flag issues early.
- Scrappy execution—You find solutions and move forward.
- User empathy—You think about donors, seekers, and staff who interact with what you build.
How We Work
You will be part of a collaborative team building Chosen People Ministries’ digital function:
- Digital Media Director (your manager): Sets UX strategy, design direction, and priorities
- Digital Media Manager: Leads creative execution, branding, and campaigns; provides technical context
- Director of Digital Evangelism: Develops evangelistic resources and ministry tools
- You (Web Developer): Own technical execution and infrastructure
We practice user-centered design and systems thinking—we design around donor and seeker needs, we test and update, and we work cross-functionally. This is project-based teamwork, not isolated coding. You will be part of planning conversations, you will ask “why” before building, and you will ship things the whole team collaborates on.
Who You Are
Spiritually:
- Mature believer with a close walk with the Lord
- Heart for missions and evangelism, especially reaching Jewish people
- Active in a local church/congregation
- High moral character and integrity as outlined in Scripture
- Aligned with our doctrinal statement
Professionally:
- Self-starter who takes initiative without needing constant direction
- Proactive problem-solver who identifies opportunities before being told
- Builder who would rather ship something good than perfect something indefinitely
- Adaptable and comfortable with changing priorities in a ministry environment
- Humble and open to feedback, willing to learn, servant-hearted
- Clear communicator who can explain technical concepts to non-technical staff
Why This Role Exists
Right now, we are constrained by rigid technical infrastructure. We cannot quickly build landing pages, iterate on donor experiences, or optimize based on performance. Changes take weeks instead of hours.
You will change that. With the right technical talent, we can:
- Design optimal donor experiences and actually build them
- Test, learn, and improve based on real data
- Execute campaigns during peak fundraising seasons without bottlenecks
- Own our technical infrastructure instead of depending on external vendors
This is the founding role for Chosen People Ministries’ web development function. You are not just filling a position—you are building something new.
Character and Spiritual Life
This is a position within a Christian/Messianic ministry. This individual should have a close walk with the Lord, leading to a high level of moral character and faith as outlined in Scripture.
- Active participation in a local church/congregation is expected.
- Attendance at weekly department chapel gatherings is required.
- Commitment to our mission: to pray for, evangelize, disciple, and serve Jewish
people everywhere and to help fellow believers do the same
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit at a computer workstation for extended periods
- Ability to walk up/down two flights of stairs to/from the building entrance to/from the
work area - This position is 100% on-site (no remote work option)
To Apply
Send your resume and cover letter to [email protected]
In your cover letter, tell us:
- About something you built (not just maintained)—what was it, what challenges did
you solve, what was the outcome? - Give an example of when you took initiative to improve something without being asked.
- Describe how you have collaborated with designers, strategists, or non-technical teammates to create user-centered experiences.
- Why you are interested in using your technical skills to support Jewish evangelism and ministry
Include links to websites or projects you have worked on (GitHub, portfolio, live sites, etc.)
