Good Friday

“But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities;
the chastening for our well-being fell upon Him, and by His scourging we are healed.”

Isaiah 53:5

This has been perhaps the most trying time our nation—and the whole world—has faced in recent history. It feels as if nearly every nation, family, and home has been brought to heel. Now, more than ever, we fix our eyes heavenward and ask, in the words of the Psalmist, …From where shall my help come?” The answer comes in the next verse, “My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth” (Psalm 121:2).

As we keep in mind that Jesus is our help, we also are assured that He is our salvation. The Apostle Peter said in Acts 4:12,

And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.”
