About Chaim Dauermann
Chaim was born in California to Jewish parents who believed in Jesus. He grew up attending a Messianic synagogue in the Los Angeles area, where his father served as rabbi. Despite his upbringing, Chaim never had a strong faith of his own. As a teenager, he stopped identifying with Yeshua (Jesus) and felt increasingly distant from his Jewish heritage.
In his early 20s, he moved to New York City. Pleased to return to his family’s roots (his father was born and raised in Brooklyn), he worked hard to make a name for himself in the hospitality industry. Before long, he had established himself with a promising career, good friends, and a nice place to live. However, despite how well things seemed to be going on the surface, Chaim increasingly felt something was missing from his life, something substantive he could not define but had left him with a distinct feeling of emptiness.
In 2017, at 34, Chaim experienced a sudden and miraculous teshuvah (return/repentance): awakening to the calling of God, the truth of Scripture’s claims about the world, and the need to believe in and follow Yeshua. The following year, he married his childhood friend, Miriam, and in 2023, they welcomed their son, Gideon, into the world. Chaim joined the staff of Chosen People Ministries a few months later.
Having lived in Brooklyn for many years, Chaim and Miriam now serve among the Jewish people there. Chaim is the assistant leader of a Messianic Jewish congregation and is currently working toward a Master of Divinity at the Charles L. Feinberg Center for Messianic Jewish Studies. Together, Chaim and Miriam pursue a shared calling to live a Yeshua-centered Jewish life, to introduce people to Yeshua, and to nurture the faith of new believers.
