About Neal and Kim Surasky

Neal Surasky was born to a secular Jewish household in Oceanside, New York, and raised in Westchester County. He first heard about his Messiah as a senior in high school, but it was not until years later that he accepted Yeshua into his life.

At the end of his tour of duty in the US Army, he met and fell in love with his wife, Kim. They were both introduced to Messianic Judaism at a congregation in San Antonio during the planning stages for their Jewish wedding. Only weeks before their marriage, they both accepted Yeshua as their Messiah and were baptized together.

Neal and Kim both served on the worship team at a Messianic congregation in Maryland, where Neal eventually became the cantor. This experience would serve as the training ground for the couple to eventually become the leaders of Kehilat Sar Shalom, a Messianic congregation in Northern Virginia, where they continue to serve.

Neal and Kim joined the staff of Chosen People Ministries in 2006. Neal became the rabbi of Kehilat Sar Shalom in 2007, the same year he started a Master of Divinity degree in Messianic Jewish Studies through the Charles L. Feinberg Center for Messianic Jewish Studies. Kim became the director of worship at the congregation and the leader of the women’s ministry, following her calling to strengthen and encourage women in leadership.

Neal completed his master’s degree in 2017 with highest honors and is only a few classes from earning a PhD in Bible Exposition at Liberty University. Kim also continues to pursue her second undergraduate degree, a Bachelor of Science in Theology and Cultural Engagement through Moody Bible Institute.

Neal served as the director of publications for Chosen People Ministries from 2018 until the middle of 2024. Though he continues to serve as the senior editor of The Chosen People newsletter, he accepted the role of mid-Atlantic regional director toward the end of 2024. He now supervises a staff of more than half a dozen missionaries from western Pennsylvania to North Carolina.

Both Neal and Kim have a burning desire to reach Jewish people with the knowledge of the Messiah of Israel and to help believers achieve a deeper understanding of the Jewish roots of Christianity. They have ministered all across the country and internationally in Cuba and Israel. They are currently based in Columbia, Maryland.

Testimonials

“In an effort to have a deeper understanding of Scripture, Faith African Methodist Episcopal Mission at Woodbridge partners with Chosen People Ministries for our ‘Old Testament Unwrapped’ Church School series. Chosen People Ministries truly blessed us by sending Rabbi Neal Surasky. While we were seeking an instructor, we have been blessed by a teacher who really loves the Lord, Jesus Christ, and imparts the Word of truth without compromise. Rabbi Surasky came to us, has loved us, prayed for and with us, imparted his knowledge in a retainable, fun and memorable way, and has become a part of us. We look forward to third Sundays!" "

“Rabbi Neal and Kim Surasky are two of the most amazing and devoted followers of Messiah Jesus I have ever met. We instantly clicked with them and they became part of our family. When needing answers from a Jewish perspective, they have become the go-to for my wife and I. Both are very knowledgeable and clear in their presentation. The insight into the Word of GOD they share from the Jewish point of view is extremely eye-opening. We look forward to having them with us again in fellowship and to share the Word of GOD in the near future. It would be worth your while and encouraging for your congregation and ministry to have them come and minister. Our congregation highly recommends them!” "
