STANDING TOGETHER BEFORE THE GOD OF ISRAEL
On the eve of Yom Kippur—the Day of Atonement—believers from across New York City will gather in one room to pray.
We will sing, read Scripture, and confess our sins. For most of the two hours, we will pray: for Israel, for the Jewish people of this city, and for a hunger for God that only God can give.
New York City is home to the largest Jewish community in the world outside of Israel. On the holiest night of the Jewish year, we will stand and ask God to protect them.
All are welcome. Come humble yourself, worship, and pray.
Seek the Lord while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near.— Isaiah 55:6
WHY WE ARE GATHERING
FOR ISRAEL
We will pray for the safety of her people, for the wounded, for families burying their dead, for those still displaced, and for leaders who need wisdom.
FOR NEW YORK’S JEWISH COMMUNITY
New York City is home to the largest Jewish community in the world outside of Israel. We will pray for their families, for their synagogues, for their schools, and against the hatred and violence aimed at them.
FOR SPIRITUAL AWAKENING
We will pray that people would seek God again—the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—and that they would experience His mercy in Yeshua (Jesus), Israel’s promised Messiah.
WHY THIS MATTERS
THE GOSPEL IS JEWISH
The gospel did not begin in Europe or America; it began in Israel. Yeshua is Jewish. So were His apostles. The Scriptures He fulfilled were Israel’s Scriptures, and the promises He kept were made to Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and David. What He proclaimed was redemption for Israel, and through Israel, for the nations.
ONE NEW HUMANITY IN MESSIAH
Paul wrote that Messiah tore down the wall between Jewish and Gentile People and made the two one. One does not replace the other. Both Jewish and Gentile followers of the Messiah are one body reconciled to God (Ephesians 2:16). On September 20, the two will come together united in prayer for Israel and the Jewish people.
For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one . . . —Ephesians 2:14
WHAT TO EXPECT
This two-hour service will include Messianic Jewish worship, teaching from the Scriptures, confession, and repentance. Then we will pray for Israel, for this city’s Jewish community, and for the sick.
This event is free. Register so we know how many people to prepare for.

Do I need to be Jewish to come?
No. All are welcome.
Does it cost anything?
There is no cost, but please register so we can count seats.
What is Erev Yom Kippur?
Erev is Hebrew for “evening.” Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, is the holiest day of the Jewish year—a day of fasting, repentance, and seeking God. We meet in the evening to pray.
Is this a Yom Kippur service?
It is a prayer service, not a synagogue Kol Nidre service. Expect Messianic Jewish worship, teaching, and a long stretch of prayer.
Can I bring my family or my group?
Yes. Register each person so our count is right.
