September 11 @ 7:00 pm 9:00 pm

This is an Erev Rosh Hashanah—9/11 Memorial Service. We will briefly remember the tragedy of September 11, 2001, demonstrating how the hope associated with Rosh Hashanah gives us the courage and faith to endure and overcome the tragedies of this life. This service is for all who seek the comfort and strength that only the God of Israel can provide through the message and ultimate fulfillment of Rosh Hashanah.

Why This Year?

This year marks the twenty-fifth anniversary of the 9/11 attack on New York City, a day that will forever touch the lives of those who experienced it. We honor the victims and heroes by reverently remembering that tragic loss of life and the sacrifice of so many who responded with courage, aid, and comfort.

Mitch talks about a unique Rosh Hashanah service he led just days after 9/11.

The Evening—What to Expect

We will begin the service by remembering the events of September 11, 2001. We will turn to the Lord, who provides comfort and hope in life’s darkest moments. This will lead to the traditional observance of Rosh Hashanah through liturgy, music, the sounding of the shofar, and the proclamation of God’s Word. After the service there will be a gathering in the first-floor lobby with drinks, light snacks, and the dipping of apples in honey as we wish each other a sweet and spiritually prosperous New Year.
