A Surprising Encounter in Tokyo

Star of David Necklace

In a small café in Tokyo, one of our Japanese Christian volunteers noticed a Star of David necklace on a young man working on his laptop.

His name was Arik,* a Jewish traveler from Israel who had been exploring Japan for several months while working remotely. Though he grew up in a traditional Jewish home, he does not consider himself particularly religious. Still, he tries to observe the Sabbath and attend synagogue when he can.

Our volunteer politely introduced himself and shared something Arik did not expect to hear from a Japanese stranger:
“I love the Jewish people, and I pray for the peace of Jerusalem.”

Arik’s face showed surprise—and joy.

Their conversation soon turned deeper. Our volunteer shared about his faith in Jesus the Messiah and told Arik about our congregation, where Japanese and Jewish believers study the Hebrew Bible and the New Testament, pray, and stand together against antisemitism.

Arik was intrigued and decided to visit.

After attending the service, he told our volunteer, “This is my first time meeting Jews who believe in Jesus as the Messiah. The love and acceptance I felt here are very special.”

Arik plans to continue attending meetings while he remains in Japan.

Please pray that the message of the gospel will touch Arik’s heart and that the Lord will reveal the truth about the Messiah to him.

Three Travelers. One Open Door.

Grand Canyon Hikers

Phil* was not sure what to expect when he joined the Host Israelis network.

A retired believer living alone, he simply knew God had blessed him with a home—and he wanted to use it for the Lord’s glory.

Three young Israeli travelers requested a one-night stay while passing through on their way to the Grand Canyon.

Phil welcomed them warmly, preparing dinner and breakfast and making sure they felt comfortable and cared for.

“We had lots of discussions about Jesus and why He died on the cross,” Phil shared excitedly.

The young Israelis asked thoughtful questions, and Phil took the opportunity to open the Scriptures with them. Before they left, he gave each of them a Bible, highlighting passages in both the Old and New Testaments to help them continue exploring.

One of the travelers later wrote in their review: “Phil hosted us with great generosity and lots of love.”

Please pray that these young men will read the Scriptures, seek the Lord with open hearts, and discover their Messiah.

Since the tragedy of October 7, many Israelis—especially young adults—have shown increased spiritual openness. Pray that this openness continues and that many will turn to the Lord.

Ready to Follow, Ready to Lead

Budapest

After months of prayer and planning, our Muchan (“Ready”) Conference in Budapest brought together 110 Messianic young adults from ten countries.

Their purpose was simple but powerful: to deepen their walk with the Lord and prepare to share their faith with others.

The theme of the conference, Ready to Follow, Ready to Lead, focused on how the disciples first learned from Yeshua—and then went out to proclaim the gospel to the world.

Worship times in both English and Hebrew were deeply meaningful. For the twenty-five Israeli participants, many of whom have been personally affected by the ongoing war, the conference became a place of healing and encouragement.

Throughout the gathering, young leaders built friendships, shared evangelism ideas, and discussed creative ways to reach their communities.

Please pray that these young adults will continue to grow as bold witnesses for Messiah and that the relationships formed during this conference will lead to many new opportunities to share the gospel.

A Divine Appointment on a Plane

Flight Passenger

Sometimes the most meaningful ministry moments happen in the most unexpected places.

While traveling to the conference in Budapest, one of our team members struck up a conversation on the plane with three Israeli travelers: Ido,* Leah,* and Lior.*

They continued talking in the airport and decided to meet later that evening to listen to live jazz music together.

As the night went on, the conversation turned to deeper matters—faith, truth, and the identity of Yeshua.

Our worker shared his personal testimony and explained why he believes Yeshua is the promised Messiah.

Two of the Israelis mentioned they had heard about Messianic Jews before and were curious to understand more.

Their questions revealed genuine openness. One even said they would be willing to believe—if it is true.

Before parting, they agreed to reconnect when everyone returned to Israel so they could continue the conversation.

Please pray that these seeds of truth will grow and that each of them will come to know the Messiah personally.

Thank you for making these moments possible. Through your prayers and support, Jewish people around the world are encountering followers of Yeshua who are ready to share the hope of the gospel.

Please continue praying that the Lord will open hearts and draw many to Himself.

Do not forget—we appreciate your prayers, and we want to pray with you. Use the prayer form to let us know your prayer needs today!
