Shalom and Happy Thanksgiving!

I love the words of the psalmist who praises the Lord for His goodness and lovingkindness: “You are my God, and I give thanks to You; You are my God, I extol You. Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; For His lovingkindness is everlasting” (Psalm 118:28–29). Even amid our struggles, we can praise God for the splendor of His character. He…

The Mystery of God’s Will

Beach Evangelism

One of our staff members from New Zealand was recently in Israel and had several opportunities to minister to Israeli families and to practice her Hebrew. She spent time with Hebrew speakers who did not speak English, including the mother of Eli,* who our staff member had originally met at the Punakaiki Beach hostel on the west coast of New Zealand.

Our staff member had previously enjoyed several experiences with Eli and his friends back in New Zealand. She took them rock climbing, made challah and hummus with them, and traveled with them on different occasions. It was a pleasure for her to spend that time with them and to share the gospel and show them the unconditional love of Yeshua (Jesus).

When the staff member visited Israel, Eli was excited for her to meet his family and try his mother’s cooking. Meeting his mom and sister was a true pleasure and honor, and the food certainly did not disappoint! Eli’s family are Yemenite Jews, and our staff member tried several of their traditional foods. She now has a standing date with Eli’s mom to learn how to cook some of their favorites. Eli’s mother does not speak much English, which made their communication both fun and challenging. Our staff views it as a true honor to be invited into the homes of this sweet family and have the chance to share the love of Yeshua with them.

Hosting Israelis

One of our hosts in the United States recently hosted a delightful Israeli family, who stayed with them twice. The first visit was for three nights. The second stay was for only one night as they prepared to head to the airport to return to Israel. They were respectful in all of the conversations and, before they left the first time, stated how everyone they have stayed with during their travels has shared the same things with them. They added that they have learned a lot about the history of their own Jewish people and what the Hebrew Scriptures has to say about Israel. They acknowledged “someone” guiding them and meeting all of their needs at every turn. When they returned for the second visit, they had a deeper conversation. Aaron* even stated that, after hearing everything the hosts said, “Yeshua is the Messiah.” Praise the Lord! He said he needs to look into this matter further, but someone had shared Isaiah 53 Explained with him, and he had begun to read it. Shana* also stated that she wanted to know more. Please pray for this precious Israeli family.

Dozens Of Jewish People Hear The Gospel In New York

God blessed our Shalom New York campaign this summer. Our teams held dozens of gospel conversations with Israelis and other Jewish people.

While speaking with Israelis, one of our teams respectfully shared how they love the God of Israel, the people of Israel, and Yeshua—the Messiah and Savior of Israel! Many of those conversations ended with the Israelis hugging members of our team, thanking them, and taking their literature about messianic prophecies!

One member of our staff and a teammate also talked for an hour with three Orthodox Jewish people studying to become rabbis. Our staff shared about the Jewishness of the New Testament and how the “Last Supper” was a Passover meal. One of the rabbinical students asked them for a New Testament in Hebrew!

Our staff also met a Christian man in Union Square Park who told them he was praying to God for help sharing the gospel with Jewish people. They agreed it was a divine appointment!

At another local park, God brought an Iranian Jewish man and a Jewish lady who works at New York University to speak with our staff. Our team had amazing conversations about God and Yeshua with these two Jewish people. One staff member has already begun following up with them.

During another encounter in a subway station, a precious Jewish lady became very upset about the idea that God could have a son. Our staff member showed her Proverbs 30:4 (“What is His name or His son’s name?”), and she was stunned. They then spent time looking at Jewish commentaries and translations. Our staff member also shared his testimony and some other prophecies. They finished the conversation with hugs and tears in their eyes! Our staff member is looking forward to speaking with her again.

Thanksgiving: The Gateway to Joy in Difficult Times

Dr. Mitch Glaser

Dear friend in the Messiah, Shalom. I am thankful for you, your willingness to stand with the Jewish people, and your prayers as we reach Jewish people around the world. We are approaching Thanksgiving, and I have been thinking a lot about the importance of giving thanks as a spiritual discipline—maybe more than in past years—because of the war in Israel and the rise…
