About Jacob Palmer
Jacob was raised in a Christian home with a Jewish mother who believed in Jesus and a father who was a missionary kid. He grew up attending church and celebrating Christian holidays. Even as a young child Jacob had felt the reality of sin and suffering. As a result of this awareness life was not always easy. but God continued to guide his steps.
In 2008, at the tender age of 11, Jacob shared the gospel with his Jewish grandmother, whose health was deteriorating. Jacob was concerned about her eternal destiny. He wanted her to know Jesus, so he asked her if she wanted to believe in Jesus. She answered affirmatively, and so Jacob led her in a sinner’s prayer two weeks before her death. and before he himself became a believer.
After graduating high school in 2016, Jacob attended Moody Bible Institute first as a Biblical Language student and then as a Jewish Studies major, when during the annual Passover Seder he realized that there was more to his Jewish heritage.
At Moody, Jacob served as treasurer and president for the Jewish Studies student group Kesher. He graduated with a bachelor’s in 2020. He then moved to Dallas in the summer of 2022 and began attending Dallas Theological Seminary in 2023, where he is currently studying for a Master of Theology.
Jacob currently serves on the leadership team of Our Jewish Friends. Our Jewish Friends is an on-campus group that seeks to motivate and mobilize the student body to engage their local Jewish communities. Through love and the truth that Jesus is truly Messiah they strive to raise awareness and understanding about Jewish people and reconnecting followers of Jesus with their ancient Jewish roots. Jacob loves teaching at DTS and the congregation he attends. He officially joined the staff of Chosen People Ministries in May of 2024, which perfectly matches his desire to bring the gospel to the Jewish people. Jacob is hoping to raise enough support to be able to work full-time with Chosen People Ministries upon graduation.
