During our annual summer outreach on the streets of New York City, one of our Chosen People Ministries staff members was approached by Yishai,* a middle-aged Orthodox Jewish man who had questions. They had a wonderful forty-five-minute conversation exploring key Messianic passages, including Daniel 9, Daniel 12, and Isaiah 53.

At one point, Yishai humorously remarked that his rebbe (rabbi) was “kind of in competition with Jesus,” prompting a lighthearted exchange. Surprisingly, Yishai spoke favorably of Jesus as a righteous man who is in heaven. He seemed somewhat familiar with Christian beliefs, so our staff asked if he had read the New Testament. He said, “No, we’re not supposed to . . . but go ahead and share a little bit, I won’t tell.” He was interested in what our team was discussing, especially when another young man on the team shared Isaiah 53 with Yishai. Upon hearing the words of this amazing prophecy about the Messiah from the Hebrew Scriptures, Yishai said, “That troubles me.”

A relationship that began in an ordinary barbershop has become a powerful testimony of the gospel’s transforming work.

Several years ago, a non-Jewish barber named Damir* began opening up to one of our staff in Germany about personal struggles within his family and his search for hope. After our team member invited him to a Messianic Passover Seder, Damir heard the good news of Messiah Yeshua (Jesus) and responded by placing his faith in Him that very evening.

Since then, the ministry has continued to disciple Damir through regular meetings for prayer and Bible study. Damir’s enthusiasm for sharing his newfound faith has been contagious. “I can’t stop talking about Jesus!” he confessed. He shares about his faith in Jesus with his friends and posts videos of his church’s services on his YouTube channel and Instagram. “Wow! Can I come with you next time?” some of his followers ask. Now, Damir wants to introduce one of his Jewish friends to our Messianic Jewish congregation. It is amazing to see Gentile believers making Jewish people jealous of Israel’s Messiah!

Please pray that Damir will continue to mature spiritually and that the Lord will continue to use his testimony to draw many Jewish people to faith in Yeshua!

Our annual Shalom London witnessing campaign welcomed ten participants from the United States, London, Birmingham, and Glasgow. With the themes “Isaiah 53” and “I Found Shalom,” our team engaged in daily evangelism throughout London’s busy underground stations, public parks such as Hampstead Heath and Regent’s Park, and prominent locations, including Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus.

The staff experienced many fruitful conversations. In one encounter, a Jewish man shared that he had been raised in both a Jewish and Christian home but had never made a decision about Jesus, even though he “likes Him.” He told our staff that he meets weekly with a group of men at a college where he teaches to discuss religious topics and invited a team member to attend this gathering to share what he believes.

Another memorable conversation began when team members wearing “I Found Shalom” T-shirts encountered a Jewish couple at a restaurant. After commenting on the shirts and expressing appreciation for the visible support of the Jewish people, the couple shared that they had never met Messianic Jews before but were very eager to talk.
