A Profile of Courage

Hannah*, a young Jewish college student in New York, came to a Bible study at the invitation of a family friend who is a Jewish believer in Yeshua. He had been praying for Hannah and sharing the gospel for quite a while before she showed up at the Bible study.
Hannah had many questions, and the leader of the study patiently and lovingly answered each one. Near the end of their time together, the leader asked a direct question: “Hannah, can you think of any reason not to ask Yeshua to be your Messiah, Savior, and Lord?” She replied, “No, I can’t think of a reason to delay.” They prayed together, and that young Jewish woman gave her life to Jesus that night.
Although the angels were rejoicing in heaven over her (Luke 15:10), Hannah’s father was not. He was furious! So much so that he kicked her out of his house. Hannah was devastated by his rejection, but she stood strong and courageously defended her newfound faith to her angry family.
But praise God, today Hannah is continuing her relationship with her Messiah and has found safe shelter with a friend. Please pray for Hannah. Pray she remains strong in her faith and finds a loving Messiah-centered congregation where she can grow. And pray that she is reconciled with her family once again.

When a Bomb Shelter Becomes a Sanctuary

Life in Israel remains a constant battle. There is uncertainty every day, and plans often must be altered. Bomb threats have everyone on edge. Yet in the middle of the chaos, many are seeking God . . . finding hope in His good news.
Our ministry team is supporting those in need with food, supplies, personal care items, and medicine, including more than 100 first aid kits. Although many organizations are involved in humanitarian relief, we approach ours differently. We do not just offer physical aid, we provide spiritual support that is rooted in the Bible. Everything we do is done in the name of Jesus.
Out of necessity, the team spends a lot of time in bomb shelters. Recently, one of these shelters became a sanctuary when ministry members surprised the seven families who share the shelter—most with young children—with goodies and special treats. This thoughtful gesture has opened the door for spiritual conversations about the Messiah and the New Testament.
Please pray that these new relationships forged in hardship will flourish and that hearts will continue to soften to the good news of Messiah.
“If I Believed Anything, It Would Be This . . .”

Yarden* uttered those words about Messianic Jewish beliefs in a phone call to his girlfriend. Never having been exposed to Jewish believers in the Messiah, he was skeptical. But in a providential lunch, our team walked him through the gospel…all the way from Genesis through the Old Testament and into the New Testament. He heard how Jesus fulfills prophecies and became our sacrifice.
Shortly after this lunch conversation, Yarden was invited to join an adventure to the mountain towns around Cyprus, where he had evacuated from Israel. During that day trip with Chosen People team members from Australia, Yarden listened intently to their testimonies and asked lots of good questions about what he heard.
At the end of the trip, Yarden confessed to his girlfriend, “If I believed in anything, it would be this.” He reluctantly accepted a Hebrew Bible saying, “I’m sure there is someone else you can give this to.” Our reply? “No, Yarden, we are sure it is for you.”
Later, Yarden messaged to say how touched he was and promised to read the Bible. Please pray for him and for all the displaced Israelis in Cyprus. God can use difficult circumstances and uncertainty about the future to soften hearts and draw people to Himself. May it be so for Yarden.

Hope in the Rubble

Israel’s twelve-day war with Iran made a bad season even worse. As ballistic missiles screamed overhead, strangers huddled together in safe rooms all over Israel. One couple, married just that morning, was not allowed to have their wedding reception due to safety restrictions and found themselves in a bomb shelter with some of our ministry team.
Sensing the couple’s sadness at having their special day interrupted, people soon circled around them to dance and sing traditional wedding songs. Our staff prayed for this lovely young couple. They were moved and said we brought joy and light into this heavy moment. Miriam*, who was singing with us, is an observant Jewish woman. She began to ask many questions about Jesus and heard our testimonies, even attending our Sabbath service later. God was clearly at work in that shelter.
Our team was also able to shower about 100 displaced families with God’s love. When their building was reduced to rubble, hope took flight in the form of tangible relief and newly forged relationships. One young couple, Amir* and Yulia*, lost everything they owned in the blink of an eye. Only hours before, they had been sitting in their living room, but it was reduced to rubble in an airstrike. Although they were in shock, our team surrounded them with God’s love, and they were exceedingly grateful.
Please pray for these displaced families, the newly married couple, and Miriam*. Our team is showing the love of Jesus in practical ways. May their hearts be open to Messiah!
