She got a new heart!

A lifetime of bad decisions had taken their toll on Shoshanna’s* body.
Only in her fifties, this Jewish woman was dying of organ failure. And still, she kept running from Yeshua.
But her mother—a believer for decades who has been connected to one of our congregations in Virginia—faithfully prayed for Shoshanna. And when her daughter was hospitalized, others from the congregation visited Shoshanna regularly to read the Bible to her and show her Yeshua’s love.
One day, their persistence finally broke through. Something clicked for Shoshanna—and she stopped running, placing her faith in her Messiah.
Shoshanna passed away a few weeks later, but not before demanding to be immersed! As the pastor of our congregation poured water over her head in her hospital bed, Shoshanna sobbed and cried out, “I have a hew heart! I have a new heart!”
Praise God, and thanks to your faithfulness, Shoshanna is at rest in the arms of her Messiah now and forever!

A deep pain . . . a deep love

Heartbroken. That is how Boris* felt.
His son had struggled with an addiction for several years—and the pain of that situation was eating him up.
Seeing his struggle, a friend invited Boris to a weekly support group for family members of addicts run by Chosen People Ministries staff in New York City. As he has attended meetings, Boris has encountered the love, prayer, and encouragement of the entire group, and he has heard the gospel message. The group’s attendees are sharing with Boris the impact that Jesus has made on their lives and how they know the same pain of loving someone ensnared by addiction.
Just recently, Boris began attending the weekly congregational service as well. During the communion celebration, sitting in the back of the room, Boris leaned over and asked one of the staff, “What does it mean to take communion?”
“It means you believe that Jesus is your Savior and that you trust in His sacrifice for your sins,” she replied. “Do you believe this?”
With tears in his eyes, he declared, “Yes, I do believe this.” With great joy, he has accepted Jesus as Messiah.
Thank you for being part of Boris’ story of finding Yeshua—and for praying with him for his son to be delivered from addiction and come to know the Messiah as well.

Restoration and Healing

“I felt like God was present through the entire time and prepared this program for us. I could see Him in the smallest details. For me, Nera was a huge turning point where God met me personally.”
This quote is from one of the ten participants in the Nera Healing Retreat for female soldiers who served in the Israeli military during the horrible events of October 7 and in the ongoing war. Nera means “her candle” in Hebrew.
This retreat, run by one of our Chosen People Ministries staff in Israel, is designed as an intensive program for recovery and trauma care for female soldiers. And through this initial retreat, God worked miracles in the hearts of participants.
Our staff member reported, “It’s like [Yeshua] took us to the privacy of His home and personally tended us as His sheep. We saw how God restored life to these women and gave them joy again. We saw Him face to face and watched Him work so powerfully. For lack of better words, it was heaven on earth. My heart is filled with awe and gratefulness to know that He gave me the opportunity to be part of it.”
Please pray for these female soldiers who participated in Nera. And lift up the planning for a second retreat—that God would again move and bring healing.
“I think I’m beginning to believe in Jesus!”

Chosen People Ministries staff in Scottsdale, Arizona, held a powerful Hannukah/Christmas event that drew Jewish people from across the Phoenix and Scottsdale areas to come and celebrate together.
At the event, our leader shared, “If there had been no Hanukkah, there would be no Christmas,” and offered a profile of the Jewish Messiah from the Hebrew Scriptures as well as an invitation to trust in Him.
After the message, seventeen Jewish non-believers approached the leader, several with tears in their eyes. A few of their responses are below:
- One young man outright stated, “I learned more about Hanukkah during your presentation than what I’d heard during five years of Hebrew school. I think I’m beginning to believe in Jesus!”
- A young Jewish woman shared that she was going to sign up for the next women’s Bible study at the church.
- A Holocaust survivor invited the leader to meet her for coffee to talk more.
- Another Jewish woman plainly said she wants to know Jesus!
We are grateful for you! The support and prayers of friends like you make these stories possible. Because you care and give, Jewish people all over the world are meeting their Messiah. Thank you for being an important part of this effective outreach to Jewish people everywhere.
